As an organization of women, The Junior League uniquely understands the importance of women’s safety and health issues. Lack of safety, from harassment to human trafficking to domestic violence, is an everyday occurrence for women globally. Furthermore, most medical research studies, which directly affect how we diagnose and treat medical conditions and diseases, are done on men. This creates a clear gap in the awareness, treatment and outcomes of women’s health. The Junior League is committed to centering women’s wellness and safety as a key priority.
Junior Leagues focus on the most pressing needs in their community related to centering women’s wellness and safety. This can range from building domestic violence shelters and long-term housing to bringing awareness to human trafficking to hosting women’s health fairs.
