Our commitment extends to expanding opportunities for women’s leadership in all aspects of life – be it in our community, personal endeavors, or professional spheres. Guided by insights from prominent studies by McKinsey & Company, Harvard Business Review, LinkedIn, and the American Association of University Women, we recognize and address common barriers hindering women’s success.
These barriers encompass a lack of leadership opportunities, limited avenues for connection and belonging, inadequate support for families and caregivers, insufficient focus on women’s wellness and safety, and harmful biases and stereotypes. At The Junior League, we actively work across our Association to eliminate these obstacles, creating a space where women can thrive. These impact pillars represent the high-level work of the vast majority of Leagues, but all local Leagues are still able to address local community needs as they see fit.

Proactively eliminating inequity, bias, and stereotypes is crucial for future generations, as girls are exposed to these challenges from a very young age.
As a women-led organization, The Junior League recognizes the distinct challenges women face in safety and health. Addressing the disproportionate impact of domestic violence, human trafficking, and the gender gap in medical research, we prioritize the wellness and safety of women, striving to bridge awareness and improve outcomes in women’s health.
Women, primarily responsible for family and caregiving roles, faced increased challenges during the pandemic. The Junior League, with a legacy in improving children’s well-being, remains committed to uplifting families by prioritizing impactful initiatives for children.
The Junior League was established as a platform for women to cultivate leadership skills and make a community impact.
