The Junior League movement has been driven by women who see what is possible and take bold steps to make it a reality. The Dorothy Payne Whitney Innovation Award honors that spirit by celebrating those who are not only continuing her legacy but expanding it in meaningful and forward-thinking ways. As AJLI’s first President, Dorothy Payne Whitney championed progress through her support of the arts, education, social reform, and women’s advancement. This award given only when there is a worthy recipient who has shown innovation and creativity in overcoming a challenge for the Association recognizes Members, Leagues, and groups who embody that same vision and innovation that elevates our impact and moves the Junior League forward in powerful and lasting ways.
