2025 (Division 2): Diversified Fundraising Strategy
The Junior League of San Jose has shifted its fund development strategy from relying on one primary fundraising event to adopting a more diversified fundraising strategy. This innovative approach includes smaller-scale events and campaigns such as retail give back nights and member-sponsored Party with a Purpose gatherings like an annual Galentines event. By aligning fundraising efforts with member capacity, they successfully raised over $90,000 last year. While this was a decrease in total amount raised in previous years, it exceeded their goal of $67,000 and alleviated the pressure and stress on members, improving the member experience and increasing member engagement. This strategy emphasized training all members in diverse fundraising methods such as corporate partnerships, donor outreach, and phone solicitations. By utilizing these new skills, the Phone-a-Thon raised $30,000 while building connections across member categories. In shifting their overall fundraising model to align with capacity and interest of members, they achieved exceptional results without the sacrifices often associated with larger scale events, all while providing members with meaningful training and leadership opportunities in fund development. Congratulations to the Junior League of San Jose!
