Meet Michelle Eckmann

BOD - Michelle Eckmann

As a nonprofit executive and long-standing member of the Junior League of Las Vegas (JLLV), Michelle Eckmann brings extensive experience in both financial management and volunteer leadership to the AJLI Board of Directors. Michelle has held numerous leadership roles with JLLV, including President (2013-2014), Finance Vice President (2010-2012, 2023-2025), and Treasurer (2009-2010). She has been instrumental in shaping the League’s financial sustainability using a forward-funding approach that laid the groundwork for long-term stability.

Michelle currently serves as Chief Financial Officer at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada, where she oversees all financial aspects of the organization’s 13 clubs. Prior to this, she worked in the CFO group at Bank of America for 15 years and was the CFO of the Alexander Dawson School at Rainbow Mountain. With a Master of Accountancy and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Michelle expertly navigates financial governance for nonprofits, ensuring growth and sustainability.

Her impact in JLLV extends beyond finance. Michelle has helped create three of the League’s enduring community projects, including partnerships with Shannon West Homeless Youth Center, Three Square Food Bank, and the Community Service College Scholarship Program. As inaugural chair of the Investment Oversight Committee, she established the League’s Investment Policy Statement and diversified its endowment portfolio.

In addition to her work in the League, Michelle has served on the Board of HELP of Southern Nevada and Nevada Women’s Philanthropy’s Grant Screening Committee and participated in the Leadership Las Vegas program. She has received numerous accolades for her contributions, including the Bank of America Neighborhood Excellence Initiative Volunteer Service Award (2011) and Volunteer of the Year for Nevada (2018). In 2007, she was presented the Outstanding Provisional Award from the Junior League of Louisville, and in 2010, she received the Heart of Gold Award from the Junior League of Las Vegas.

Michelle is passionate about creating volunteer opportunities that leave lasting impacts. While she enjoys hands-on service, such as preparing meals for homeless youth and participating in pop-up food pantries, she finds even greater fulfillment in helping others discover meaningful ways to engage in community service.

An avid traveler, Michelle has visited 100 countries and territories, all 50 U.S. states, and all seven continents—a reflection of her deep appreciation for different cultures and global perspectives. She is excited to expand her Junior League experience to the Association while continuing to champion financial sustainability, community engagement, and leadership development.
