Meet Laura Tackett

Laura Tackett prioritizes teamwork and transparency in her leadership. She believes there are many opportunities to help our communities and that in order to grow, we must collaborate to lift those around us.

For over a decade, Laura has supported her community and become a better leader as a member of the Junior League of Ann Arbor (JLAA), where she is now a Sustainer. Both the training she received and the relationships she formed have been invaluable, particularly when she served as President of her League. Laura led the Junior League of Ann Arbor during the height of Covid-19, where she garnered high participation in online meetings and social gatherings. She helped determine when to bring community projects back and when to sunset projects. Most of all, she established herself as an authority that people could trust during a challenging time. Before her presidency, Laura served as President-Elect, Data Manager, Recording Secretary and Assistant to the President, Community Impact Programming Planning Chair, and was involved with New Member Development, among other roles.

Beyond The Junior League, Laura is a Board Member and Event Chair of the Children’s Literacy Network, and Treasurer of the Chelsea Area Friends for Recreation, where she was formerly Secretary. She has also served as Ronald McDonald House of the Huron Valley Development Committee and Auction Chair, as well as Pacesetter and Coach for Girls on the Run of Southeastern Michigan.

Professionally, Laura is Corporate Controller of NSF International. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance from Boston College and a Master of Business Administration in Accounting from DeVry University.
