Jessica Sharp has been a dedicated advocate for underserved and underrepresented communities, diversity and inclusion, and bringing as many voices to the table as possible. She is fiercely committed to public service in both a professional and volunteer capacity. An engaging, collaborative, and confident leader, Jessica has challenged the status quo throughout her decade in The Junior League.
As a Junior League Member first in the Junior League of Greenville (JLG) and now the Junior League of Houston (JLH), Jessica values the personal development, community transformation, and relationship building opportunities the organization has provided. Her time in the Junior League of Greenville nurtured her leadership capabilities. She was named a Rising Star and served in a variety of leadership positions, including Sponsorship Development Committee Chair, Fund Development Vice President, inaugural Recruitment Committee Chair, and Communications Vice President. Most significantly, Jessica launched the D&I Committee in the Junior League of Greenville, where she served as its first D&I Chair and led the process of creating a diversity five-year strategic plan. A relatively new member of the Junior League of Houston, Jessica is on the Community Initiatives Committee.
In addition to her involvement with Leagues, Jessica has also held positions with The Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI). She was an AJLI Governance Committee Member, as well as a member of the AJLI Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) Task Force.
Outside of The Junior League, Jessica’s volunteer work includes acting as a Court Appointed Special Advocate in Houston and previously as a Guardian Ad Litem. She has been a member of several boards including the Greenville Theatre and Fostering Great Ideas and served as Chair of the Municipal Election Commission for the City of Greenville.
Beyond receiving the AJLI Rising Star Award, Jessica was named the Greenville Chamber of Commerce Young Professional of the Year and a Best and Brightest Under 24 by Greenville Business Magazine.
The Founder & CEO of Sharp Brain Consulting, Jessica works to improve the public service sector nationally through organizational development consulting and training sessions. An organizational psychologist, she delivered a TEDx Talk about poverty’s impact on the brain.
Jessica earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina, a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Missouri, and a Doctorate in Leadership Psychology with an emphasis in neuroscience from William James College.
