Dr. Sandra P. Thompson is a dynamic leader who has occupied numerous roles within The Junior League of Orange County, California (JLOCC), including President, Vice President of Public Affairs, Nominating Committee Chair, Treasurer, and more. This will be her second term with the Association, having previously served on the Governance Committee from 2017 to 2019. She has spearheaded several initiatives, including the establishment of the Training Collaborative, aimed at enhancing the professional development of members across multiple Junior Leagues.
Passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion, Dr. Thompson played a pivotal role in forming the DEI Task Force. She has also been instrumental in crafting innovative training programs and advocacy events, such as the #Unstoppable Women’s Training Series and the Day of Advocacy, which have given members the tools to enact meaningful change in their communities.
Beyond her contributions to The Junior League, Dr. Thompson is a respected partner at Finlayson Toffer Roosevelt & Lilly LLP, where she specializes in transactional patent law. Her expertise spans a wide array of industries, from electronics to pharmaceuticals, catering to clients ranging from individual inventors to Fortune 500 companies. Dr. Thompson’s legal acumen has garnered recognition and respect within her field, including selection for the California Super Lawyers list.
Dr. Thompson’s academic journey is equally impressive, holding a Doctor of Philosophy in Analytical Chemistry from North Carolina State University, a Juris Doctor from Campbell University, and a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Science from the College of William and Mary.
