Jennifer Porter is a seasoned leader with over a decade of experience in patient advocacy and nonprofit management. Her leadership journey began in The Junior League of Tulsa, where she has held several positions, including President and VP of Communications. During her tenure, she spearheaded initiatives such as the revitalization of the league’s quarterly magazine, Gusher, and played a pivotal role in fundraising efforts, including achieving the endowment’s fundraising goal of over $1 million. From 2023-2024, she served as President of the Presidents of Large Leagues (POLL) networking group.
As the Director of Patient Advocacy for PharmaEssentia, a global biopharmaceutical company that focuses on rare blood cancers, Jennifer has been tasked with building and leading this function within the company and is the strategic lead in the company’s support of nonprofit organizations and patient-focused programming within the rare blood cancers space.
Jennifer’s experience in building successful partnerships has also extended into previous roles for national non-profit organizations. Previously at the Susan G. Komen Foundation, she oversaw major industry partnerships, contributing to a pipeline of $2.4 million in funding and onboarding three new industry partners. As the Executive Director of Oklahoma at the Arthritis Foundation, she transformed a struggling market into the top-performing medium market nationwide. Through her efforts, she increased revenue by 1200% and raised significant funds to bring a pediatric rheumatologist to Oklahoma.
Her accomplishments aren’t just limited to her professional life. She has also served on various boards and committees in the Tulsa community and currently holds leadership roles at the First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa Foundation, Mississippi College Alumni Board, The Junior League of Tulsa’s Endowment Committee, and the Monte Cassino Parent Teacher Organization.
Jennifer holds a Master’s in Human Relations and a Master of Arts in Journalism & Mass Communications from the University of Oklahoma, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Mississippi College. Outside of her professional endeavors, Jennifer finds joy in traveling and her family life with her husband, Matthew, their young daughter, Rosie, and their beloved chow chow, Aslan.
